This page explains what data we collect on this website, what we use it for and how long we keep it. The site uses no tracking cookies and no external tracking services.

Enquiries and email

The contact form asks for your name, email address and a message. A phone number is optional. The form sends the details as an email to info@varastoasema.fi. They are not stored in the website’s database. We handle the same details if you email us directly.

We use them to answer your enquiry and to make a possible rental agreement. The basis is taking steps before a contract and performing the rental agreement.

Retention:

• Enquiries that do not lead to a rental: we delete the messages two years after the last message.
• Tenants’ messages: the rental period plus three years (the limitation period for claims).
• Details that are part of the accounting records: the period required by the Finnish Accounting Act, six years.

Visitor statistics

We follow how the site is used with statistics on our own server, so that we know which pages are read and on what kind of devices. The statistics use no cookies, no JavaScript and no external analytics service.

When a page is opened, the server forms an identifier from the IP address, the browser details and the site address, combined with a random value. The value changes every day and the old one is deleted, so the identifier cannot be traced back to a person afterwards, and the same visitor cannot be followed from one day to the next. The IP address and the browser’s identification string are not stored.

We store the page address, the time, the response status and speed, the device type (phone, tablet, computer or automated agent), the browser and operating system name, and the page the visitor came from. The data is kept for 400 days. The basis is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used and improving it.

Server logs

The web server records every request in a log, including the IP address, for security and troubleshooting. Log entries are deleted automatically after seven days.

Cookies

We do not use tracking cookies, so no cookie banner is needed. The contact page sets one cookie that is necessary for protecting the form (csrftoken). Logged-in users also receive a login cookie (sessionid) when they sign in.

Recipients of data

Our website hosting provider and our email service provider process data on our behalf. We do not pass data to anyone else and do not use it for marketing.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and to object to its processing. Contact info@varastoasema.fi. If you believe we process your data unlawfully, you can complain to the Data Protection Ombudsman.
